What Is the Saudi Family Visa?
A Saudi Family Visa allows immediate family members to join, or make a short visit to, a relative who is legally living in Saudi Arabia. There are two main types.
Family Visit Visa
The Family Visit Visa is for short-term visits, valid for up to 90 days. It can be extended to 180 days, subject to approval.
Family Residence Visa
The Family Residence Visa is for families settling in Saudi Arabia long-term, aligned with the sponsor’s Iqama validity.

Documents Required for a Saudi Family Visa (Australian Applicants)
- Original passport with at least 6 months’ validity and at least 2 blank pages, plus copies of any previous Saudi visas
- Two recent passport-size photographs with a white background, meeting Saudi standards
- MOFA-approved invitation details, including the sponsor-issued family visa authorisation
- Copy of the sponsor’s Iqama (for residents) or Saudi ID (for citizens), and the sponsor’s passport
- Sponsor’s employment letter or salary certificate
- Proof of accommodation in Saudi Arabia, such as a rental agreement or proof of ownership
- Proof of relationship, such as a marriage or birth certificate, attested by Australian authorities and the Saudi Embassy, and translated as required
- Medical fitness certificate
- Police clearance certificate
- Valid Australian ID or residence permit, plus proof of lawful residence for non-Australian passport holders
