What Is the Saudi Business Visit Visa?
A Saudi Business Visit Visa allows professionals invited by a Saudi company, organisation or government entity to enter the Kingdom for short-term commercial or professional engagements.
The visa is intended for business visits only. It does not permit paid employment in Saudi Arabia.
Who Can Apply for a Saudi Business Visit Visa from Japan?
Japanese citizens and foreign residents of Japan can apply if they have a formal invitation from a Saudi-registered company, organisation or government entity, approved by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). Eligible applicants include:
- Senior executives, consultants, engineers, project leaders and technical professionals travelling for meetings, negotiations, conferences, exhibitions or project discussions
- Investors, entrepreneurs and corporate delegates exploring market entry, evaluating investments or building strategic business relationships
- Specialists and advisers carrying out temporary consultancy, training or advisory assignments
Foreign residents must also hold a valid Japanese residence permit.
Saudi Business Visit Visa Validity
The visa can be issued as:
- Single-entry: valid for up to 90 days, with a stay of up to 30 days
- Multiple-entry: valid for 6 or 12 months, allowing several short visits during the validity period

- Employer recommendation letter, attested by the local Chamber of Commerce where required

- Accommodation details or a sponsor letter from Saudi Arabia
- Copy of your Japanese residence permit (non-Japanese nationals only)
- Police clearance certificate issued in Japan

Saudi Business Visit Visa Application Process from Japan
- Host obtains the MOFA invitation. Your Saudi host company issues the invitation, which MOFA approves.

- Submit your application. We submit to the Saudi Embassy in Tokyo or an authorised visa centre and track it until approval.
