What Is the Saudi Family Visa?

A Saudi Family Visa allows immediate family members to visit or relocate to Saudi Arabia to join a relative with valid employment or residency status there, under an approved sponsorship. There are two main types.

Family Visit Visa
The Family Visit Visa is for temporary family stays, typically issued for up to 90 days. It can be extended to 180 days, subject to approval.

Family Residence Visa
The Family Residence Visa is for families moving to Saudi Arabia long-term under an authorised sponsorship.

Who Can Apply for a Saudi Family Visa from Japan?

Japanese citizens and foreign residents of Japan can apply if a family member is legally working or living in Saudi Arabia. The visa suits:

  • Professionals in Saudi Arabia arranging relocation for a spouse, children or other qualifying dependents
  • Families whose Saudi sponsor or employer has granted family sponsorship authorisation
